Plenty of room for the two of us and the dogs. No clutter around. Everything that was there was very functional. Warm welcome and the fresh flowers from the garden... read more were a nice touch.
Paula would went the extra mile to make us feel at home and at the same time she was very discreet and respected our privacy. Great host and property.

November 6, 2024 Close Cottage is in a beautiful location just outside Easingwold. There are lots of great walks from the cottage in the gorgeous Howardian Hills. There are plenty of lovely surrounding... read more villages to explore, the bakery at Hovingham was a highlight. The cottage is spotlessly clean, well appointed very quiet and suited our needs. The bed was very comfortable, there was lots of hot water and there is a pretty outdoor area. For anyone visiting the cottage a car is essential so you can access all the area has to offer. Thank you Paula for your friendly hospitality.

The location of the cottage is in a lovely rural area but was central to visit most areas by car from The Dales, North Yorkshire Moors, the coast or places like York. The cottage was stunning; super clean and Paula had left lots of little post it notes around the house to explain how things work etc. The cottage was very spacious, with a huge bathroom and lovely bedroom - the only thing I would say, is if you like your room super dark like me, take an eye mask as the curtains allow the light in first thing.

The kitchen was very well equipped, the bedroom and bathroom were both huge, and the living and dining areas were lovely and cosy. Paula had left lots of useful nice touches, from chocolate biscuits on arrival and fresh milk in the fridge to the binder full of laminated country walks - both from just outside the front door to coastal hikes further afield across the Moors.
Strongly recommend for a countryside home away from home, good for accessing local villages, the great outdoors and the city of York.
